Overflow

Have you ever stopped to think about what this verse means or could look like in your life on a practical level?  It involves being so filled up with God’s love that it has to overflow into the lives of those you come in contact with every day.  This kind of life, a life where we are not only experiencing God’s love, but are sensitive to his promptings to pass this love along to others, is what OVERFLOW is all about.  We desire to be a body that is internally strong but externally focused.  We want to be involved in demonstrating God’s love in practical ways to those we come in contact with every day. This can look like… 

• Paying for the meal of the people in the line behind you in the drive-through
• Offering to give someone a ride who is walking in the rain
• Taking a moment to really listen to someone
• Practicing the ministry of noticing – who needs help or an encouraging word?
• Helping someone who is elderly or handicapped with work that needs to be done
• Giving away bottle of water on a hot day
• Free car wash
• Visiting folks at a retirement home
• Holding doors
• Complimenting (or tipping) people who are doing a good job at something.
• ... I think you get the idea
