Meet Brea AsburyeFree has offered me a place to grow in large groups, small groups, and one on one interactions. Recently, I have been excited that our church has challenged us to be filled to overflowing with Christ and to allow that love to overflow to others around us in genuine ways. There are many times when I have come to church wounded and limping in my spirit, needing to cry out to God for healing or encouragement...do I put on a face and pretend all is well, or acknowledge I am a needy person with only Christ to offer to others? Only when I am broken and know my need for Christ can I truly grow and have something to give to those around me. So...that's what the Lord has brought me to realize lately through times of depression, struggles in marriage, and difficulties with family. I have the power of God that raised Christ from the dead within me--will I use it? When I haven't felt filled with Christ's love, all I have to do is open my mouth and share my struggles, and there are people who will love on me and pray for me and encourage me in my weakness to look to Christ and take advantage of the church friendships God has put around me. I'm realizing that God has put rich gifts all around me in the people in our church, and I can have them for my own if I will reach out...or not. If you are willing, there are people in this church who will open their arms and their hearts and welcome you in to know Christ and grow in Him. Don't try to do in on your own! |
